The Quality Control Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and airworthiness of aircraft maintenance and alterations. This position involves performing inspections and providing approvals for the return to service of aircraft, specifically for work conducted at the Service Center, which is an FAA Certificated Repair Station. The inspector is responsible for adhering to the highest standards of quality assurance and may report to the Crew Chief for the assignment of various aircraft maintenance tasks. The role requires a thorough understanding of technical data that is acceptable to and/or approved by the FAA, ensuring that all inspections and approvals are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards. In addition to inspection duties, the Quality Control Inspector may also engage in hands-on aircraft maintenance, which includes preventive maintenance and alterations. This position may require travel to various locations to support customer aircraft, highlighting the need for flexibility and adaptability in the role. The inspector will perform a range of tasks, including making adjustments and repairs, replacing components, and troubleshooting aircraft system malfunctions. The ability to document, record, and sign off on work performed is essential, as is the responsibility for ensuring that all work meets the required standards of quality and safety. The Quality Control Inspector is expected to support production aircraft under the Production Certificate System and assist other employees in their duties within areas of qualification. Familiarity with the RSM/QCM and applicable regulations is critical, as the inspector is accountable for the quality of work performed. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in aircraft operations.
