About The Position

AAON’s Quality Engineers (QEs) are responsible for driving QMS compliance and improvement opportunities to ensure our products meet customer and engineering specifications. QEs will monitor and analyze performance and quality data from various sources to drive root cause/corrective actions and process adherence. QEs will proactively work with other departments and teams to foster and maintain a company-wide quality culture. A QE may be assigned to supervise other team members in the QA department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in Quality (ASQ CQE Certification), ISO, Lean, Statistical Process Control, Auditing, HVAC, and Continuous Improvement methodologies are preferred.
  • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
  • Exhibits good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Able to set tasks and direct the work of others.
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • This position requires occasional travel as part of its responsibilities.
  • Travel for this role is required.
  • English proficiency is mandatory.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with SAP modules such as EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) or IM (Inventory Management).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes statistical analysis to review current and past failures.
  • Provides suggestions for improvements and assist in implementing changes.
  • Creates, implements and oversees the development of quality standards/metrics.
  • Develops quality control systems designed to ensure final products meet customer specifications and performance requirements.
  • Provides technical expertise to other AAON team members when needed.
  • Audits quality manufacturing and test procedures, interacts with quality team members and manufacturing personnel to ensure quality processing and testing of all products.
  • Works with Engineering, Sales, Warranty, and Field Service personnel to resolve customer complaints and address field service technical problems.
  • Plan, coordinate, analyze and report quality issues, key performance indicators and continuous improvement activities.
  • Addresses quality failures with root cause corrective actions.
  • Works with other departments and outside manufacturers to ensure that purchased and manufactured parts meet engineering and customer specifications/standards
  • Conduct audits of supplier processes and quality systems to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, and production teams to qualify new suppliers and ensure compliance with product requirements.
