About The Position

MWH is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer to support coordinate and implement quality management standards to maintain excellence in MWHs deliverables The Quality Control Engineer will confirm that all project work is compliant with MWH and appropriate client standards and meets all specified requirements This position is critical to implementing effective quality management ensuring project work is delivered to a high standard that meets the requirements and expectations of client organizations This position interacts throughout the organization internally Location Austin TX

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Civil Mechanical Electrical or Process Engineering or related field; an equivalent combination of relevant construction experience skills and training will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in inspection or construction An equivalent combination of experience skills and training andor trade schoolapprenticeship diplomas may be substituted
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment techniques drawings and specifications building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
  • Knowledge of quality control programs and ability to determine acceptability and deniability of work based specifications
  • Team player but a self startermotivated
  • A detail oriented mentality is helpful for this position
  • Familiarityworking knowledge of construction equipment techniques drawings and specifications building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
  • Outstanding organizational skills experience recording tracking and managing data from across multiple disciplines and projects
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills experience interacting with internal staff and clients clients and subcontractor staff members of all levels
  • Able to work independently take directions from multiple group leaders and coordinate with the Regional Director on a daily basis
  • Proficient with some of the following BIM VDC Construction Management Three dimensional modeling drafting visual scheduling and collaboration tools

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications by leading organizations within the quality management industry are desirable
  • Prior experience with waterwastewater construction
  • On site experience with a self performing contractor demonstrating successful performance on projects greater than 100M
  • Experience with ozone generators and systems

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a thorough understanding of project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Monitor construction quality and support project staff in the performance of day to day activities applicable to the Quality Management System
  • Assist multiple project teams with the development of the project site specific quality plans
  • Coordinate schedule perform and document perform ongoing quality inspections; verify all completed work complies with applicable permits codes drawings and specifications
  • Ability to create piping and equipment testing plans
  • Troubleshoot and provide input into solving with engineering project technical problemsconstruct ability issues
  • Provide quality expertise and advice in the proactive resolution of compliance issues ie codes standards specifications and regulations
  • Reporting on Key Performance Indicators KPIs for the project which are designed to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Provide job site coaching and guidance on quality reporting and assist with monitoring trends and re occurring quality issues
  • Maintain relationship with owner subcontractors design partners and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution
  • Coordinate project quality training and partnering efforts
  • Support the company quality culture through promoting recognizing and rewarding positive quality behaviors
