About The Position

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities and deliverables meet or exceed project specifications, contract requirements, and industry standards. This role involves developing and implementing quality control plans, conducting inspections and tests, and collaborating with project teams to resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of quality control experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, or environmental construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, AASHTO).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Ability to work on-site at project locations with travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) in compliance with contract documents and company standards.
  • Perform and document inspections, tests, and audits of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to address and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Track, report, and monitor non-conformance items and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain organized and accurate quality records, including inspection reports, testing data, and certifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support safety and environmental compliance initiatives, ensuring that quality control processes align with Forgen’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and closeout reviews to represent the quality control function.
