About the position

The Quality Control Engineer for Self Perform Operations at Turner is responsible for implementing the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan. This role involves planning, monitoring, documenting, and reporting compliance with the contract documents in accordance with the QA/QC Plan. The engineer will develop a comprehensive understanding of the contract documents, execute the QA/QC Plan, and ensure adherence to ethics and compliance requirements. The position requires establishing relationships with various stakeholders and continually improving strategies for documenting and tracking compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents.
  • Develop and execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan with scopes of work and work procedures.
  • Develop engineering procedures, including document control and submissions management.
  • Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project safety plan.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Understand the project execution plan and coordinate Quality Control procedures.
  • Continually improve strategies and tools for documenting compliance.
  • Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party testing.
  • Expand the development of the QA/QC Plan as the project progresses.
  • Oversee the development of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) and punch lists.
  • Direct removal and replacement of non-compliant materials and document compliance.
  • Research and apply additional Quality Control and Lean procedures.
  • Oversee project close-out and quality reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years' experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of the construction process, means and methods, and materials.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Turner's project management software.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
