About The Position

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control / Electrical Engineer to support quality assurance and control processes for electrical engineering systems across Department of State (DOS) facilities. This role is central to maintaining compliance, ensuring system integrity, and supporting high‑quality preventive maintenance operations. The Quality Control / Electrical Engineer will test, inspect, evaluate, and verify that electrical components, installations, and systems meet design specifications, industry codes, and applicable safety regulations. This position plays a key role in identifying performance issues, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring the highest standards of quality within electrical engineering operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, system design, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience performing quality inspections, testing, or engineering evaluations in complex facilities.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and QC/QA procedures.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal, defense, or DOS facilities.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and electrical system diagnostics.
  • Certifications in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA, or similar).
  • Experience with large commercial or industrial building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all QC/QA activities related to electrical engineering systems and preventive maintenance work.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate electrical systems, components, and installations for compliance with design specifications and applicable codes.
  • Review electrical drawings, technical documents, and system designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to DOS requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies or performance issues and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits of electrical system maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, federal regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Support root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical performance issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, inspection logs, QC documentation, and quality performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, O&M personnel, contractors, and project managers to maintain quality standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement for electrical system reliability and maintenance programs.
