About The Position

Overview: Implement food safety and quality system processes for the WPL facility. Conduct audits of production facility to ensure company, federal, state and local food safety standards are maintained. Consult with Quality Control Director to implement and monitor quality systems to ensure accurate and consistent quality attribute monitoring and reporting. Function as an information source to pack house leadership team, sales, and company support departments to provide quality and food safety data. Here's what you'll do: Execute food safety audits to ensure compliance with directives from third party audit bodies, local, state and federal agencies Conduct Wonderful Citrus audit procedures and ensure facility documents are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained Evaluate overall product quality by monitoring product lines via testing and visual inspection Educate and instruct plant personnel in QC testing, equipment and general sanitation, food safety and GMP practices. Ensure these procedures are continuously maintained Consult with plant supervisors and leads on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields Monitoring and correct (if necessary) inspection activities for product throughout production cycle Implement inspection criteria and procedures Provide direction and support in the completion of food safety corrective actions in the packinghouse Monitoring, develop, and execute food safety and quality monitoring audits in the packinghouse Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams Ensure safety of all associates and encourage participation in WOW initiatives Monitoring and management (as needed) quality system in Oracle and mobile solution Performs supervisory activities for direct reports, including but not limited to administering wage information and allocations, developing and coaching staff as necessary, making staffing decisions, and representing staff interests to department management Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food processing environment and/or combination equivalent education and experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer literate. Experience with Oracle or other SAP program desired
  • Advance knowledge of food safety practices and GMPs required
  • Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual, English and Spanish a plus, but not required
  • HACCP, PCQI, SQF and/or BRC preferred
