About The Position

The Quality Control Associate plays a key role in supporting operational excellence within TPD Retail Life New Business. This individual is responsible for conducting quality reviews, performing internal audits, and reporting key quality metrics to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency. Beyond oversight, this role serves as a collaborative partner to the team; helping to identify trends, assess underlying causes, and supporting meaningful, sustainable improvements. The Associate is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy, thoughtfully evaluating quality findings and partnering with analysts and leadership to strengthen performance, processes, and overall risk management.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in life insurance or financial services, preferably within the retail life insurance channel
  • Working knowledge of life insurance new business processing in a regulated environment
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, paired with strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with leadership while in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality reviews at critical stages of the new business process, including pre-issue, pre-delivery, and final disposition.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., replacements, FATCA, free look, NY Reg 60 and Reg 210).
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring errors to determine whether trends are related to individual development needs, procedural gaps, training opportunities, or system limitations.
  • Partner with management to escalate broader systemic concerns while independently addressing coaching opportunities at the analyst level.
  • Investigate distributor inquiries and complaints as assigned and provide clear findings and recommendations.
  • Designated back-up to team to ensure continuity of service and a positive customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain recurring quality reporting and dashboards; synthesize findings into clear insights and practical recommendations for leadership.
  • Track, analyze, and report individual and team quality metrics; identify trends and recurring deficiencies.
  • Translate quality data into actionable improvement opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders to support implementation and follow-through.
  • Promote awareness of operational risk and rework impacts associated with processing deficiencies.
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate group training sessions on new or updated procedures.
  • Provide individualized coaching to address skill gaps and reinforce best practices in case processing.
  • Support change management efforts by reviewing and testing procedural updates prior to implementation, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen procedures, job aids, and documentation, and drafting recommended updates for review and approval.
  • Assist with drafting and maintaining TPD Life procedures and checklists, including annual reviews and updates.
  • Encourage team feedback on workflows and recommend process enhancements aligned with management strategy.
