About The Position

Under general supervision, inspect quality of product and report variances to pertinent personnel. Upon start-up of new orders, it gives final approval to ensure product meets job ticket specifications. Provide on-the-job training and assistance to production personnel to eliminate errors.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum: One year or more previous quality auditor experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Possess knowledge of envelope construction standards.
  • Ability to travel off site as needed.
  • Must have the ability to read a ruler and micrometer.
  • Proficient understanding of envelope manufacturing industry.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization including customers.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend basic instruction.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and implement approved ideas.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving complex situations.
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
  • Ability to change tasks and direction quickly depending on business needs.
  • Must possess ability to work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, carry, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May experience periods of prolonged standing and/or sitting. Requires manual dexterity to grasp objects; hand/finger coordination and color vision.
  • Exposure to noise; must wear hearing protection.
  • Must be available to work overtime as requested or required, to include weekends when business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize measuring instruments to perform product inspection at machine start-up and throughout shifts.
  • Review products to ensure compliance with customer requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure nonconformance issues are addressed and corrected as required.
  • Ensures required documentation is completed / Maintained for record-keeping purposes.
  • Proofreads typeset copy and compares it to customer order to eliminate errors on the finished product.
  • Provides feedback to supervisors/managers to assist in eliminating repetitive errors.
  • Provide start-up samples as required.
  • Assists plant management in coordinating priorities and directing the re-work area functions.
  • Requires ongoing coordination and communication between departments or functional areas.
  • Basic Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules based on the needs of the business.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment based on knowledge and experience.
  • Assist in training new and current employees on quality control techniques, processes or procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
