This position manages all activities related to QC and inventory control within the warehouse environment. Their main objective is to ensure that all materials are properly stored and that accurate and appropriate levels of inventory are maintained in order to meet customer demands. The QC responsibilities include inspecting all inbound and outbound product to ensure that company quality and dating standards are met. This position will work closely with the receiving group to identify any quality issues with incoming product and take the appropriate action. QC will also work closely with the purchasing department to resolve quality issues.

  • Walk the warehouse and cold rooms multiple times daily, inspecting the overall quality of ALL inventories in the facility.
  • Open cases, check receiving dates, and ensure proper case rotation in the pick slots.
  • Work with Warehouse staff to check back stock products on upper-tier racking.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Buying departments to recommend movement of product to Repack Department and/or clearance.
  • Communicate needs and opportunities with Buyers, QA, and Operations.
  • Participate in internal and external Quality audits.
  • Assist with third party and customer audits to obtain or maintain certifications.
  • Report to management on quality and food safety issues and trends.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in warehouse shipping and handling, preferred.
  • Experience with WMS AS 400.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Inventory Management experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to safely operate all warehouse equipment.
  • A vast knowledge of the fresh produce or perishables industry is needed to be successful in this role.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and follow through on projects.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and short deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management internally and externally.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility to react quickly to changing requirements.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
