About The Position

The Quality Control Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products consistently meet Plantible Foods’ food safety and quality standards. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with production and operations teams to monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process while supporting compliance with critical food safety and regulatory frameworks, including FSSC 22000 and Food Safety Modernization Act Preventive Controls, as well as third-party certifications such as Gluten-Free Certification, Halal Certification, Kosher Certification, and Non-GMO Project Verification. Beyond testing and documentation, you will actively support a strong food safety culture by conducting Gemba walks, partnering with production teams to reinforce quality standards, and contributing to operational training programs that promote consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, FSMA, FSSC 22000)
  • Understanding of GMPs, sanitation programs, and contamination control
  • Laboratory testing and sampling procedures
  • Basic microbiology and environmental monitoring knowledge
  • Strong coaching and communication skills with production teams
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
  • 1–3 years experience in food manufacturing quality or laboratory roles
  • Ability to work in food production environments
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Use of required PPE in manufacturing areas

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in FSSC 22000, SQF, BRCGS, or ISO 22000 certified facilities
  • Experience supporting Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP)
  • Experience conducting GMP inspections or Gemba walks
  • Experience supporting food safety audits

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and chemical analyses including pH, color, moisture, density, and other product specifications.
  • Prepare, label, receive, and manage raw material, in‑process, and finished product samples.
  • Conduct daily or scheduled Food Safety and Quality GEMBA walks in production areas.
  • Verify compliance with GMPs, hygiene practices, sanitation procedures, and food safety standards.
  • Coach DSP operations team members on correct GMP practices and food safety expectations.
  • Provide on‑the‑floor training for operators on sampling procedures, hygiene standards, and contamination prevention.
  • Support the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) through surface swabbing, documentation, and follow‑up actions.
  • Assist with compliance programs, including FSSC 22000, Gluten‑Free, Halal, Kosher, and Non‑GMO certifications.
  • Verify CCP and OPRP monitoring activities according to the HACCP / Food Safety Plan.
  • Maintain traceability documentation and participate in mock recalls and traceability exercises.
  • Calibrate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, balances, thermometers, and colorimeters.
  • Document non‑conformances and support root cause analysis and CAPA activities.
  • Maintain laboratory records, including sampling logs, testing records, environmental monitoring records, and calibration logs.
  • Collaborate with DSP operations, maintenance, and FSQ teams to resolve food safety or quality issues.
