About The Position

The Quality Control – Aircraft Inspector is responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance, inspections, repairs, and documentation are carried out in strict compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer’s specifications, customer requirements, and Company standards. This role is critical to maintaining the highest levels of airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 23 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Part 65 Certification and minimum 2 years of aviation experience.
  • 18-months minimum experience with Embraer Regional Jet 135/145 (ERJ) and/or Bombardier CRJ200 (CRJ) required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced training preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel internationally.
  • Able to pass a 10-year work history review, criminal background check, and DOT pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must submit to and pass FAA- and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with FAR Part 135 and Part 145 operations, inspection methods, techniques, and tools.
  • Must be proficient with inspection equipment and visual aids appropriate to the task.
  • Completion of Quality Inspection training required.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-progress, and final inspections of aircraft, components, and articles maintained by the Company.
  • Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and Company procedures.
  • Verify that all required maintenance and inspection documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Confirm that all maintenance work meets FAA, customer, Company, and manufacturer standards of quality.
  • Complete inspection records in accordance with the Repair Station Manual / Quality Control Manual and applicable customer guidelines.
  • Conduct surveillance of maintenance practices, storage areas, shops, and housekeeping standards, initiating corrective actions as required.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Assist Crew Chiefs and Supervisors in determining the scope of required repairs.
  • Perform weight and balance procedures.
  • Release aircraft or components back into service following approved inspections.
  • Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned by leadership.

  • Pay Rate: starting hourly rate is between $27.00 and $37.00 per hour based on your prior work experience. You will also receive an additional $1.00 override for working the nightshift.
  • Step Pay Increases: Eligible for a $1.00 increase each year on your pay anniversary date, up to a maximum rate of $42.00 per hour.
  • Retention Bonus: After reaching the top of the pay scale, eligible for an annual retention bonus of up to $2,000.00 based on performance.
  • Overtime Pay: Hours worked in excess of 40 per week will be paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
  • Holiday Pay: Work performed on Contour Airlines' observed holidays will be compensated at 2 times your hourly rate. A list of Company-recognized holidays is outlined in the Employee Handbook.
