About The Position

Optimum is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to ensure quality control for FTTH and HFC system installations. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards while delivering high-speed connectivity solutions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid State Driver's License within State of Employment and CDL where applicable.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Field operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MDU, aerial, underground, and BA installation materials and equipment, including technical familiarity with HFC and FTTP system plant components and wiring.
  • Good PC skills including knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Ability to carry and climb a 28-foot extension ladder.
  • Willingness to climb poles.
  • Ability to read system maps.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a vehicle.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to assist management in handling customer complaints professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality control for all types of FTTH and HFC system plant installations.
  • Assists in compliance of field service and safety requirements.
  • Ensures technical field operation compliance for the delivery of all services.
  • Produces Safety QCs as applicable.
  • Performs all duties of a Field Technician, including uniform compliance and badge appearance.
  • Reads and understands system maps for both HFC and FTTP.
  • Knowledge of construction and installation specifications related to building attachments and underground for new build QC inspections.
  • Complies with safety guidelines as laid out in Optimum safety manual and in relation to OSHA, NESC, NEC, Blue Book, SCTE Construction and Fiber Manual.
  • Performs QC inspections of new builds and completes paperwork tasks related to QC compliance in a timely manner.
  • Ensures field compliance with OSHA, National Electrical Safety Code, and Building Officials Code Administration.
