About The Position
The Manager for Quality Clinical Nurse Abstractors is accountable for the quality clinical abstraction centralized system function at RWJBH. This includes hiring and performance review of the team, employee engagement to meet best practices, coordination of centralized quality clinical abstraction needs at hospital and service lines, informing the budget needs of the department in collaboration with the SVP, Patient Safety and Quality, and supervision of team productivity and output quality. The Manager will also support gathering and organizing data from a variety of clinical sources, including retrospective and concurrent medical record abstraction; accomplishing data acquisition in accordance with department timelines; communicating with others in the department, hospitals and service lines when issues pertaining to data quality and or clinical documentation quality and or clinical care arise; preparing reports based on data abstraction; maintaining a level of data acquisition reliability and accuracy that is up to CMS and department standards.
