Quality Batching Supervisor Role Overview Provides day-to-day supervision of Quality Control department and functions.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in beverage, food, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of batching, syrup room operations, or formulation processes.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret formulas, batch sheets, and technical instructions.
  • Proficient in basic math, measurements, and data entry.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma Required (Associate's degree strongly preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP, MES systems, or electronic batch records.
  • Previous leadership in a high‑speed beverage facility.
  • SQF or HACCP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all batching activities including ingredient staging, mixing, syrup room operations, and tank preparation.
  • Ensure batches are produced according to approved formulations, specifications, and production schedules.
  • Oversee accurate weighing, measuring, and documentation of raw materials.
  • Verify that batch records, COAs, lot numbers, and yields meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, GMPs, HACCP, and internal food safety programs.
  • Conduct in-process checks for Brix, pH, CO₂, viscosity, and other quality parameters.
  • Hold technicians accountable for sanitation, allergen control, and changeover procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve nonconformities, batch deviations, and ingredient discrepancies.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance oversight for batching technicians.
  • Develop team competency in formulation accuracy, equipment operation, and documentation.
  • Lead by example in enforcing safety, quality, and workplace discipline expectations.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workload assignments.
  • Ensure proper operation of batching, blending, CIP/SIP, and transfer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process or equipment issues and work with Maintenance on repairs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, reduce waste, and improve consistency.
  • Enforce all plant safety rules and ensure a clean, hazard‑free work environment.
  • Participate in safety investigations and corrective action processes.
