About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED is currently seeking a Quality Auditor - 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Rumford, RI facility. Eaton is a premier manufacturer in the aerospace industry servicing commercial and military markets. Core hours: 3pm-11am The hourly rate for this position is $27.37 + $0.60 p/h shift differential per hour per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The Quality Auditor will work from prints, method sheets, inspection method sheets, sketches, and/or verbal instructions using any and all measurement equipment such as but not limited to; micrometers, verniers, dial bore gauges, drop sticks, size blocks, dial indicators, comparators, protractors, pin/plug gauge, thread gauges, radius gauges, calipers, air gages, as well as special purpose equipment such as; surface finish Indicators, spring checkers, surface plates, hardness measuring machines, manual and programmable optical comparators, optical flats, pressure test fixtures, multi-axis measuring and concentricity/roundness measuring equipment, and other visual measurement systems. Use computers to perform inspection tasks as required. Measure, layout, witness, or setup and perform ATP's (Acceptance Test Procedures) on a wide variety of products and related components. Inspect or otherwise determine acceptability of components and of assemblies in various stages of manufacture in relation to established specifications and limits in accordance with established techniques and procedures, and under the direction of the Group Leader or Supervisor. When no established techniques or methods are available, such as a prototype, the Quality Auditor and Group Leader (or Supervisor) will work together to establish the acceptable techniques required. Specialized training and testing may be required to be qualified in certain aspects of dimensional or non-destructive testing requirements. Set up and perform bench inspections, layout inspections, in-process inspections, receiving inspections, First Articles, and final inspections as needed. Perform shop floor audits of operators (both Certified and Non-Certified) and inspection equipment as required per company's Quality System. Select techniques to be used as applicable to the requirements specified or work to specific instructions in cases of critical requirements or difficult measurements. Prepare and maintain a wide variety of records and/or files as required, including but not limited to; Accept Ticket's, DMR's, IMS', FPY's, IR's, Customer Over Inspection Logs, and other inspection records/files as required. Use WISPER, QWI logs, MFGPRO, Labor Reporting and other QMS electronic tools as required. Perform Over Inspects, serial number and marking verifications, and work to PCP's and routers as required. Identify and segregate non-conforming work, document conditions and make dispositions within established limits and procedures. Maintain vigilant traceability of certifications and other critical documentation. Perform the duties of the Quality Auditor on a plant wide basis, in Receiving Inspection and in any and all product lines. Work with Engineers to develop and recommend new processes and improve existing processes. Set up, program (when not written by an Engineer), and operate both conventional and programmable CMM's located both inside Receiving Inspection and in other departments. Simultaneously operate multiple inspection machines (of any type) and/or inspection devices (of any type) in a cell or that are in close enough proximity to ensure safe operation. This includes machines equipped with automated systems (e.g.,robotic arms, loaders/unloaders, etc.). Report faulty operations, defective material and unusual conditions to the Group Leader or Supervisor. Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S, safety, and department standard practices and daily checklists. Observe prescribed safety precautions, company rules, and regulations

Requirements

  • 1+ years of accumulated mechanical measurement experience obtained in manufacturing, inspection, and/or educational environment within the last 3 years
  • Experience reading blueprints, specifications and sketches of a fairly complicated nature, as well as a variety of precision measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, comparators, dial indicators, air gages, CMM's, etc.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must live within 50 miles of Rumford,RI
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 1+ years of basic knowledge and understanding on how to use and operate the different varieties of tools find precision measuring instruments within a manufacturing environment.
