About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that food products meet customer specifications and quality standards within a manufacturing facility. This position involves conducting various tests, audits, and inspections to maintain product quality and safety, while also adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of quality experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
  • Reasoning ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various product tests by testing batches and conducting taste tests on finished products.
  • Check ingredients and recipes, logging results and correcting discrepancies.
  • Conduct audits of products including batch controls, component weights, and finished weights.
  • Collect samples of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products as required.
  • Communicate with key personnel regarding the status of ingredients and products.
  • Maintain contracts for specifications and requirements of raw materials.
  • Prepare hold reports and hold tags for raw ingredients and inform necessary personnel for disposition.
  • Enter daily production data into the computer and complete various reports.
  • Evaluate hazards and verify measures for a safe work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and OSHA Regulations.
