About The Position

performing microbiological tests testing fat composition performing raw, intermediate and finished milk and product analysis performing environment tests flavoring product inspecting Plant and upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) providing accurate and timely information to department managers keeping records and documentation of test results creating and communicating laboratory reports for regulatory agencies and Publix associates assisting teams in applying information for process improvement and resolution of quality issues in the facility other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years old
  • must obtain lab certification by state and/or FDA
  • must be able to taste and evaluate all products
  • must have analytical and problem-solving skills
  • must demonstrate safe working habits
  • must be able to lift up to of 50 pounds frequently
  • must be able to learn and perform all positions
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • must have good human relations skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team player)
  • must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • must have excellent attendance and punctuality
  • must have excellent safety work habits
  • must be willing to assist other team members in other areas
  • must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
  • must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
  • must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • must possess basic math skills
  • must be able to communicate effectively

Nice To Haves

  • have a two-year degree in Dairy Science, Microbiology OR other related curriculum OR two years laboratory experience or equivalent experience
  • lab experience
