About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician at Colorado Premium Foods is responsible for monitoring production processes to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role involves conducting audits, performing quality checks, and ensuring that products meet both internal and customer specifications. The technician will also coach other employees on food safety practices and maintain records of compliance and inspections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a food-processing environment.
• Excellent reading, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to prioritize projects and multitask.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and routine correspondence.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Minitab software.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all food safety and quality policies, USDA regulations, and BRC third-party requirements.
• Models and coaches food safety and quality expectations to other employees.
• Ensures products meet internal and customer specifications and takes appropriate actions for non-compliance issues.
• Conducts product audits for compliance, including proper labeling, packaging, temperature, product specifications, and weights.
• Performs and records quality checks on products and regulatory checks as specified within company HACCP, food safety, and quality programs.
• Inspects equipment for cleanliness and proper working conditions prior to startup and records findings.
• Collects microbiological pre-op swabs.
• Conducts raw material audits to ensure incoming products are within specification before production.
