Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 1 year experience in an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 3 years experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates for multiple departments / areas.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

  • Have proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, or distribution, with a strong track record of improving quality, efficiency, and safety metrics.
  • Bring deep experience in quality assurance or inventory control—such as managing inventory integrity, running audits or cycle counts, and overseeing corrective action processes.
  • Are skilled at using data and reporting tools to analyze operational performance, identify gaps, and implement process improvements that deliver measurable results.
  • Are an effective people leader who can direct, coach, and develop associates and front-line leaders—providing feedback, identifying training needs, and supporting hiring, promotion, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate confidently with cross-functional partners (e.g., IT/systems, regional or divisional leaders, vendors, and suppliers) to troubleshoot systems, implement new processes, and support large-scale operational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the business plan for your area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety, while driving continuous operational improvements.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with associates, leaders, customers, and suppliers—both verbally and in writing—to align on priorities, resolve issues, and support day-to-day operations.
  • Forecast staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands, ensuring the right people, processes, and resources are in place to deliver on operational and quality targets.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze business and performance reports, using data and insights to identify trends, drive root-cause analysis, and implement improvements in production, quality, and safety.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with logistics, quality, and safety standards, policies, and procedures by developing, maintaining, and reinforcing the use of clear processes and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee the execution of QA programs and systems operations, including corrective actions, slot profiling, inventory adjustments, cycle counts, inventory tests, outside storage, damages and strays management, hazardous material processing, and coordination of required hardware/software maintenance and repairs with internal and external partners.
