The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for administering the total quality management programs for the company. This role involves establishing control limits and control charts to ensure that quality control standards are maintained. The specialist will identify improvement opportunities and determine the best course of action, focusing on specific elements such as auditing or documentation control. The position requires interfacing with customers, suppliers, and employees at all levels of the organization, conducting visual measurement tests, and communicating necessary adjustments to the appropriate personnel. Additionally, the specialist may approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and certifying products for shipment to customers. The role also involves interacting with engineering and sales departments to solve problems, developing approaches to assure high-quality product output, and preparing statistical analyses to justify recommendations for changes in methods, tooling, tolerances, or inspection and testing procedures. The specialist will investigate causes of faulty work, excessive scrap, rework, or inspection delays and take corrective action as needed. Other responsibilities include performing complex calculations using measuring equipment, writing programs for CMM machines, conducting audits and supplier surveys, and maintaining calibration records for equipment.
