About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for performing quality assurance (QA) review of eligibility case files to ensure benefit accuracy for the following programs: Colorado Works, Adult Programs (Old Age Pension OAP and Aid to Needy and Disabled AND), Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI), Non-Modified Adjusted Gross Income (Non-MAGI), and Long-Term Care (LTC) Medicaid, and CCCAP (Colorado Childcare Assistance Program). Review cases for discrepancies to ensure accurate payments; identify training needs; and detects possible program fraud. Issue reports outlining findings. Interpret and apply ever-changing county, state and federal regulations and policies. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and driven individual who has a proven track record of acting as a subject matter expert in state run financial programs, with the humility to accept and apply feedback received from supervisors as a growth opportunity. This person works well independently, ensuring state-mandated deadlines are met, database entries are correctly entered and that your workload is managed consistently in all services provided, and standard processes are met. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of work-related experience in determining eligibility in the Colorado Benefit Management System or quality assurance.
  • Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Must become CJIS certified within 6 months of hire.

  • Experience working in Quality Assurance and familiarity with quality assurance databases as a staff-side user and assisting others in all program areas.
  • Ability to gather, understand and analyze complex data sets from a variety of sources as it relates to business administration.
  • Ability to explain data implications to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback to enhance growth and development.
  • This position has access to extremely sensitive information.
  • Preferential consideration for interviews will be given to those candidates with demonstrated experience in program eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews eligibility programs to verify compliance with federal and state rules and regulations and adherence to county procedures and practices as well as detect and assess operational errors, risks and fraud.
  • Monitors and reviews multiple state/county systems and reports to assess anomalies and inconsistencies in program and business practices and processes.
  • Identifies, evaluates and analyzes adverse quality trends that may impact program effectiveness and funding.
  • Research program rules and regulations and works with federal/state program staff to understand and clarify proper application.
  • Independently determines a personal work-plan daily for prioritizing multiple duties.
  • Conducts multi-program reviews and documents review results in the Human Services Quality Assurance database.
  • Emails initial findings to workers and management to correct or rebut findings.
  • Provides final monthly reports detailing review findings.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
