About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of food products at a family-owned food manufacturing company. This position involves conducting sampling and analysis of products, maintaining records, and assisting with audits, all while working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a science-based field is preferred
• An aptitude for problem-solving
• Ability to function as part of a dynamic team
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk through a wet, hot and/or cold manufacturing plant, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and analysis of in-process and finished products.
• Taste and smell food products.
• Maintain records of all facility analytical results; immediately report out-of-specification results to the QA supervisor.
• Follow a work schedule.
• Perform repetitive tasks without getting bored or distracted.
• Clean equipment and check that equipment has been cleaned properly.
• Assist with all food safety/quality audits, SQF audits, and customer audits.
• Assist the QA and management teams with other needs that may arise.
