About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist position at the Department of Defense (DCMA East) involves overseeing the quality assurance provisions of contracts. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. The specialist will work closely with contractors to identify process improvements and ensure that products and services meet the necessary quality standards in support of U.S. Government acquisitions.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in quality assurance concepts, principles, methods, and practices.
  • Experience in evaluating and inspecting production methods and processes performed by contractors.
  • Ability to apply statistical and quality data analysis evaluations to determine compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Education from an accredited institution may substitute for specialized experience.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
  • 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Administer quality assurance provisions of contracts by designing and implementing a risk-based surveillance program.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through analysis of process measurement data.
  • Serve as a member of a multi-functional or technical team.
  • Implement the overall Quality Program for various products and services in support of U.S. Government acquisition.
  • Ensure contractors comply with requirements related to design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of items.
  • Independently audit and survey contractors' processes to ensure compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Investigate and provide data on customer complaints and concerns regarding contractors' quality performance.
  • Provide technical support to Agency team members in analyzing contract-related issues.
