About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist II conducts testing of new and existing technical applications and processes within EquiTrust. This individual is expected to be knowledgeable regarding all products, system operations and their inter-relationships, as well as testing methodologies and assisting in the facilitation of acceptance testing. The Quality Assurance Specialist II is responsible for ensuring that applications are built and functioning per requirements. The individual must maintain technical knowledge of the products and processes in order to build upon the testing of systems to meet technical requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • If high school diploma or equivalent, minimum 6 years quality assurance experience required.
  • If Associates degree, minimum 4 years quality assurance experience required.
  • If Bachelor’s degree, minimum 2 years quality assurance experience required.
  • Intermediate analytical skills required to analyze technical issues and problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong working knowledge of automated testing tools, testing methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
  • Intermediate ability to translate software and technical requirements into test plans.
  • Ability to think creatively in approaching problems and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite products.
  • Must have or attain an in-depth knowledge of business process and processing systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Systems, MIS, or related field of study preferred.
  • Life insurance or financial services industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Defines, plans and executes both manual and automated testing based on tasks assigned.
  • Determines test objectives and coordinates testing with other Quality Assurance staff.
  • Advises the business with defining and organizing acceptance testing.
  • Maintains and reports status of testing in daily scrums.
  • Documents quality assurance activities for audit reviews.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to testing processes and workflows.
  • Performs reviews and walkthroughs of testing.
  • Provides application instructions for end-users.
  • Operates according to EquiTrust’s change and problem management methodologies.
  • Supports the Information Technology team and/or other departments on an as needed basis.
  • Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
