The QA Software Engineer ensures internal and external customers’ requirements are met by conducting software testing and verifying software functionality against product requirements and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • BS/BA and 6+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of SME in respective areas
  • Knowledge and experience with quality Assurance testing techniques used to test software applications (test suites and scripts), anomaly reporting, software analysis, functional and system testing, “black box” and “white box” testing techniques, and software development data validation functional and system service testing.
  • Extensive experience of creating, reporting, maintaining and improving the testing automation and execution with the best tools such as Selenium, Selenium Grid, TestNG, Java, Gherkin, Cucumber, Postman etc..
  • Experience of testing web and back-end applications, including web services, written in Angular/Java/Spring Boot.
  • Experience of testing across web browsers including configuration, cache, and debugging techniques.
  • Experience working with or developing test automation in software platforms that were built with Angular/React/Spring Boot/Java with Microservice/API architecture deployed in Kubernetes and VM in distributed production environment.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux systems including advanced level knowledge of shell scripting, and some experience with Python is a plus.
  • Database knowledge: database structures and PL/SQL syntax, complex SQL queries, and ETL data transformation.
  • Experience with Informatica ETL tools is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking and physical and virtual hardware systems related to the IT operational environment.
  • Experience working with defect management, test management and documentation tools, such as JIRA, Xray Test Repository, Confluence.
  • Extensive testing experience on Agile Scrum team in a dynamic environment. Ability to adept and pivot dependent on priorities.
  • Documentation experience of providing clarity and transparency of functional test traceability and managing testing artifacts effectively.
  • Must have good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have the proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across departments.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of testing tools such as Fiddler, FireBug, WireShark are plus.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of managed care, pharmaceutical, and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations and audits of software documentation and software processes associated with products under test.
  • Establish, adhere to, and maintain software testing methodology and test environments.
  • Review requirements and technical designs for projects and provides test scope and estimates.
  • Create and validate software test documentation, including test plans, test procedures, test scripts, and diagrams depicting the test process/workflow.
  • Collaborates with non-technical MedImpact cross-functional team members.
  • Executes and tracks testing on assigned MedImpact proprietary products, including new products and modifications to existing systems
  • Actively identifies potential process improvements, error trends and/or the root causes. Makes recommendations for remedies to colleagues and management.
  • Communicates software issues through defects and enhancement requests to project team
  • Actively provides status to lead or supervisor on assigned projects
  • Projects as assigned based on business needs.
  • May lead test efforts for small or medium-sized software projects or changes.
