About The Position
The Department of Human Services (DHS), Torrance State Hospital is seeking a Quality Assurance Risk Management Coordinator. This position is ideal for individuals looking to utilize their analytical and administrative skills to optimize care services while ensuring efficiency and quality are maximized. The role involves supervising the Medical Records Department (MRD) and applying knowledge of psychiatric hospital management to oversee various treatment programs. Responsibilities include monitoring chart reviews, analyzing risk management database entries, and assessing the efficiency of the MRD. The coordinator will also maintain the statewide mortality database, identify clinical and administrative deficiencies, and implement improvements in safety, patient care, and treatment. Strong organizational skills and effective communication are essential for collaborating with managers on compliance with hospital quality assurance and performance standards. Additionally, the coordinator will supervise the Medical Records Department Director and the Quality Assurance Risk Management Specialist, coordinating teams for Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
