We are seeking a QA Medical Technologist to join our growing team in Baltimore. You will be responsible for for receipt of biological specimens into the department, preparation and processing of samples for analytical testing, and performing waived and moderately complex tests as defined by CLIA '88. Key Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Laboratory Management, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Medical Director, and Site Head, oversees and coordinates the quality assurance activities, requirements, license and accreditation activities and requirements, and assists in development of quality programs for the laboratory and study projects. Required, when necessary, performs highly complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, or bacteriological tests on human samples to obtain data relative to participant qualification and safety related to research study. May perform approved experimental testing procedures for research purposes, including specialized specimen handling, analytic, and diagnostic testing as needed. Requires practical, as well as theoretical knowledge of test methodologies, quality control, quality assurance and competency concepts Responsible for maintaining the laboratory's quality management system Responsible for the tracking of the laboratory proficiency program (CAP) and assignment of proficiency tasks within regulatory standards and protocols. Collaborates with Quality Assurance and performs quality audits according to defined parameters and shares the information with management Monitors and documents the outcomes of quality corrective plans, preparing reports as necessary Coordinates the distribution, filing and record keeping of College of American Pathologists (CAP) Proficiency Survey programs including timely investigation and completion of survey exception reports
