About The Position

The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for ensuring products meet quality standards through testing, inspection, and collaboration with production teams. The Quality Assurance Lead makes recommendations to improve processes and conducts root cause analysis to determine appropriate corrective actions for quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Business Administration required
  • 4-6 years of manufacturing quality control experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Able and willing to spend equal time in the plant with machine operators, maintenance personnel, and vendors; able to communicate production and process effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow.
  • Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in corrugated packaging preferred
  • ISO 9001 Auditor certification preferred
  • ASTA or IoPP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support all quality training initiatives including leading on-the-floor training for production employees
  • Act as the primary decision-maker on assigned quality issues, initiate corrective actions or production holds when applicable
  • Maintain knowledge of industry testing and quality standards and implement improvements to current protocols based on industry trends
  • Travel to customer sites when required to assess and diagnose reported quality issues, lead corrective action implementation based on findings
  • Maintain a strong quality focus and actively participate in the resolution of customer complaints including inspection of returned products, processing of all customer returns and reworks, and root cause analysis reporting on findings to Operations leadership to help minimize customer and/or internal complaints.
  • Maintain all internal ISO-9001 documents including the upkeep of ISO SOPs as required.
  • Schedule and conduct routine quality control inspections and tests on products and materials during the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards including pulling samples for inspection by Operations leadership
  • Analyze quality data and recommend corrective actions to Operations leadership.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, quality control processes, and complaints through the internal Quality System.
  • Understand and support operations processes by working side-by-side with production associates and assist with troubleshooting quality-related issues on the production floor.
  • Assist in implementing the company Health and Safety program to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
