As a Quality Assurance Lead within PNC's DnA organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland/Strongsville, OH, or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office on a weekly basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. A Quality Assurance (QA) Lead with hands-on experience is responsible for leading a team of testers while also actively participating in testing activities. This role involves overseeing the testing process, developing test strategies, and ensuring that software products meet quality standards. The QA Lead also mentors and trains team members, identifies areas for process improvement, and communicates effectively with developers and other stakeholders. Operating in a global delivery model, brings strategic direction to testing and acts as the subject matter expert for both the quality discipline and a line of business domain(s). Leads the review of testing artifacts throughout the product life-cycle to ensure appropriate sign off and prioritization of testing work. Including coordinating test strategy, scripting and defect resolution. Including ensuring early engagement with internal partners and proactive planning to ensure quality is a core area of focus early in the product lifecycle. Take accountability for quality standards in the development, implementation and upkeep test scripts and opportunities for automation of testing products. Developing meaningful management metrics that help to gauge project health. Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in product release. Requirements

  • Strong SQL with hands on experience building complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with Jira or related software to manage the testing process.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Execution: Developing and executing comprehensive test plans, including manual and automated testing strategies, to ensure thorough coverage.
  • Defect Management: Identifying, reporting, and tracking defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues, and verifying bug fixes.
  • Quality Standards Enforcement: Ensuring that all software products meet established quality standards and adhere to best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluating and improving testing processes, methodologies, and tools to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient workflow.
  • Test Environment Management: Ensuring the availability and stability of test environments, including configuring necessary resources and data.
  • Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest testing technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Training and Development: Providing training and mentorship to team members to enhance their testing skills and knowledge.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of testing activities, results, and progress, and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
