Perform laboratory chemical and histological procedures for various types of stains and reagents in compliance with department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure all quality assurance requirements are met according to applicable regulatory standards. Location: This is an on-site position based out of our Kalamazoo, MI facility.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general chemistry and/or histology.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and precisely.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Moderate physical demands including ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, reach, climb ladders and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine histological staining procedures, including hematoxylin & eosin (H&E), trichrome, periodic acid-Schiff (PAS), methylene blue, and other specialized stains as required by protocol or client request.
  • Perform routine chemistry testing, including physical properties, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, and GC analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Participate in validation of new materials and instruments.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain calibration standards and various laboratory reagents.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior staff members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
