About The Position

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician at Asahi Kasei Plastics North America is an entry-level position focused on ensuring the quality of production through ongoing testing and compliance with industry standards. The role involves conducting mechanical and visual tests, maintaining laboratory conditions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance framework.

Requirements

• Minimum high school education.
• Preferred: Polymer or Manufacturing related Associates Degree and/or 2-5 years manufacturing experience with a focus on quality laboratory work.
• Injection molding and SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to work the 11pm-7am shift Monday-Friday with rotating weekend coverage.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with MS Office.
• Acceptable color vision to meet departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct injection molding and physical testing per work instructions in a timely manner in accordance with ISO 17025.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks and calibrations.
• Maintain the laboratory in a tour-ready condition.
• Follow all standard laboratory work instructions and test methods.
• Ensure compliance with lean, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including IATF 16949 / ISO 17025 / ISO 14001.
• Promote a safe work environment for self and others.
• Take initiative to resolve issues before they become problems.
• Seek continuous improvement through periodic assessments.
