Product Evaluation Systems, an Applied Technical Services company, is looking for a Quality Inspector to be based at our location in Latrobe, PA. The Quality Inspector is responsible for using precision tools and state-of-the-art equipment to inspect test specimens and calibrate measuring equipment to established industry specifications, customer directives, and requirements set forth by the Quality Program.

Requirements

  • Must be able to use precision instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and basic hand tools.
  • Position requires incumbent to wear personal protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses.
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • One to Three (1-3) years of prior experience in Quality or Manufacturing (inspection, calibration).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Word, Excel) and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders.
  • Operate mechanical and electronic handheld inspection equipment as needed (micrometers, calipers, various gauges, etc.).
  • Operate advanced metrology equipment, such as Scopes, Optical Comparators and Visual Measurement Systems.
  • Ensures inspection results are documented and entered into required databases/systems.
  • Work closely with test technicians and machinists to help improve processes.
  • Maintain department equipment and work area for successful operation and cleanliness.
  • Participate in the generation of new ideas to increase quality and productivity.
