We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles that is critical to food products, microbiology and chemistry testing.
  • Ability to lift 55-pound boxes above the shoulders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with co-workers, supervisors, etc.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
  • Ability to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
  • Open to change.
  • Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
  • Displays responsible behavior at work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper specifications are met and documented on all incoming ingredients and packaging materials and outgoing finished products.
  • Communicate all findings to the necessary departments.
  • Comply with Safety work rules at all times and reinforce Safety as a Core Value.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed uniformly.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Production to keep processing up to date as issues are found.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, following GMP's, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring product quality.
  • Report to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Verify PC's and CCP's are complete and signed off.
  • Follow the shift's checklist for the area.
  • Fill out inventory adjustment sheets when finished product is removed from inventory.
  • Fill out hold tags when product is to be put on hold.
  • Perform weekly environmental swabs and air plates.
  • Ensure employees are following proper safety policies/procedures.
  • Perform and record assigned QAT tasks as identified in Red Zone.
  • Work with micro, process/chemistry lab and QA supervisor to get product samples to the labs in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
