Leidos Communications Systems (CS) is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our cross-functional engineering team. We are seeking a quality engineer with a deep understanding of the electronic manufacturing services sector and have a desire to expand their quality engineering role by adding manufacturing engineering duties. At Leidos-CS, the quality and manufacturing/industrial engineering roles are combined into one. This ensures that design for manufacturability, implementation of tools, and processes are streamlined to deliver first-time quality to our customers. You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve quality problems, conduct audits, coordinate with the supply chain, engage in the design, development and production processes of electronic systems. Primary Responsibilities Work with internal process owners to develop manufacturing processes, build instructions, and oversee supplier production runs. Must understand Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and its purpose in an electronic system’s product lifecycle. Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, convection reflow, wave/selective solder, conformal coating, potting and box build. Support the supply chain through analysis of alternate electrical components and commodity management. Understanding component obsolescence standards, processes, and mitigation.
