About The Position

Motive Retail is looking for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Delivery Team. If you’re energized by solving complex technical challenges, ensuring product excellence, and partnering directly with customers on global integration programs, this role offers the perfect blend of technical rigor and meaningful impact. As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our Motive Integrator eXchange (MIX) platform. You’ll support integration activities for new and existing customers, troubleshoot intricate API and data issues, and help deliver an exceptional user experience across major global programs.

Requirements

Strong experience testing RESTful and SOAP APIs
Proficiency with Postman, JavaScript or Python, and CI/CD workflows
Experience with performance and security testing
Ability to analyze complex technical/data issues and communicate solutions clearly
Comfort engaging directly with customers and business partners
A proactive, detail‑driven mindset and commitment to delivering high‑quality software

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for RESTful and SOAP APIs
Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities within agile sprints
Build and maintain automated test scripts using JavaScript or Python
Manage test data and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket)
Validate API responses, data formats (JSON, XML), status codes, and error handling using Postman
Conduct performance/load testing to ensure scalability
Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data
Lead regression testing for bi‑weekly Staging and Production releases
Collaborate with external customers and business partners to gather interface requirements
Troubleshoot complex technical and data‑related issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions
Manage the Pull Request (PR) lifecycle, ensuring builds pass peer review and meet quality standards
Identify, document, and track defects using Jira
Report on quality metrics and API health
Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Implementation teams to resolve issues and improve program efficiency
Stay current on emerging API testing tools, trends, and methodologies
Contribute to continuous improvement of internal QA processes
