About The Position

As a member of the Information Technology team, the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer ensures the integrity and reliability of production systems by thoroughly testing code changes and validating customer requirements. The QA Engineer works independently within an assigned Scrum team, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies and collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders. In this role, the QA Engineer promotes QA standards and best practices, develops detailed test cases for user stories, and maintains traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects. The QA Engineer executes tests throughout the development lifecycle and provides regular updates on test execution status and quality metrics to management, ensuring visibility into progress and potential risks.

Requirements

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, maintain standard business hours, and ensure regular on-site presence up to two days per week.
Flexibility to travel up to 10% for onsite support, datacenter build-out/expansions, or for training as needed, with the potential for increased in-office presence or travel as business needs evolve.
Ability to implement and support critical changes during scheduled maintenance windows, including nights and weekends.
Strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering quality work in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, while consistently taking initiative.
Solid understanding of QA methodologies within Agile development environments required.
Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex testing issues.
Applied technical, analytical, and QA expertise to optimize systems and processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in quality assurance and business analysis.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in Selenium and Java/Python-based testing frameworks and tools to create and maintain automated test scripts.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) tools like Jenkins and test automation in CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail or similar) required.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles and frameworks required.
Associate’s degree in a related field or completion of a relevant trade school preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Minimum of 4 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in network.
Experience in API testing, including the ability to design, execute, and analyze API test cases for functionality, reliability, and performance using tools (e.g., JMeter, Postman, and SOATest) required.
Experience in new product development testing within the Telecommunications or Data Center industry, with a strong focus on validating functionality, performance, and reliability of related products required.
Experience with database structures and querying tools (e.g., Salesforce SOQL and SQL) for comprehensive data validation strongly preferred.
Experience in system and functional testing for Salesforce, including end-to-end workflow validation strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in the following tools is a plus: Agile Accelerator, Postman, MuleSoft, Workbench, and Jira.
Professional-level certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCDA, Network+, CompTIA, etc.)

Responsibilities

Develop, publish, and implement comprehensive test plans for complex commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, such as Salesforce and SAP, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing to validate all software releases and ensure high standards of quality and reliability.
Analyze functional requirements and design documentation to develop detailed test plans that effectively cover specified use cases and edge cases.
Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and product owners to confirm that software functionality meets both technical specifications and end-user needs.
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using tools like Selenium and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and Python to streamline testing processes.
Create and maintain QA documentation, including test cases and results, to provide comprehensive insights for all testing phases.
Define, track, and report QA metrics such as defect density and open defect counts, ensuring accurate representation of software quality and risk areas.
Participate in SOX compliance and audit activities to support regulatory and organizational requirements.
Facilitate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders to verify that software solutions meet real-world requirements.
Contribute to special projects as needed, adapting to evolving business and technical needs.
