About The Position

At Centrus Energy, quality isn’t a box to check—it’s mission-critical. As a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be a trusted authority ensuring our nuclear operations, suppliers, and systems meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. You’ll lead audits, guide quality strategy, mentor teams, and serve as a key partner to operations and leadership—making sure every process, product, and program stands up to NRC, DOE, and industry scrutiny. What You Will Do: You’ll lead and continuously strengthen the Quality Assurance program by developing and implementing procedures aligned with the QAPD and NRC/DOE requirements. Acting as a senior subject-matter expert, you’ll plan and lead internal and external audits, oversee supplier quality programs, and evaluate compliance across projects, materials, and equipment. You’ll identify risks, drive corrective actions, and ensure findings are resolved effectively. Along the way, you’ll mentor personnel on quality expectations, support management with technical guidance, maintain QA records, and champion a strong safety-first, compliance-driven culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or another technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience in an NRC, DOE, military, or similarly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, assessments, and supplier oversight
  • Strong working knowledge of QA procedures, documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Proficiency with standard business and reporting tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.).
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at an NRC-regulated facility
  • ASQ certifications and/or Lead NQA-1 Auditor certification
  • Deep familiarity with NQA-1, DOE O 414.1D, and related NRC/DOE QA requirements
  • Experience leading audits and corrective action programs in complex technical environments
  • Military or defense-related quality experience
  • Active “Q” or Top Secret Clearance
