About The Position

We are seeking an Industrial Quality Engineer with experience in manufacturing quality, process improvement, and root cause analysis. This is a hands-on, floor-based role; not a sit-behind-the-desk position. You will work directly in a manufacturing environment, partnering cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to improve product quality, process capability, and supplier performance using data-driven methods and core quality tools. The ideal candidate is comfortable being on the shop floor, solving problems in real time, and driving sustainable corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or related)
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality Engineering
  • Experience working in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment (not strictly office-based)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA (PFMEA/DFMEA) SPC, Cp, Cpk Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)
  • Experience with metrology equipment: CMM, optical systems, calipers, micrometers
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
  • Familiarity with machining, coating, plating, heat treating, or assembly processes
  • Experience with Minitab or statistical analysis tools
  • Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis on the production floor using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and CAPA
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to resolve quality issues at the source
  • Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) using Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a live production environment
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) using APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, and Control Plans
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and drive corrective actions to improve incoming quality
  • Interface directly with customers to investigate and resolve quality issues
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies using CMM and metrology equipment
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation (control plans, work instructions, inspection plans)
  • Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor working alongside operators and engineers
