The position involves providing complex quality engineering work for specific product lines under broad supervision and guidelines, including failure investigation, oversight of nonconforming materials, conducting risk analysis, defining quality inspection plans, and optimizing quality systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Five years of quality engineering experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14791.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and quality control tools.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical device experience or equivalent in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with SmartCAPA, Oracle, and Crystal Reports.
  • Experience handling deviations, investigations, and CAPAs.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Investigates engineering variables in completing assignments with clear objectives.
  • Works independently on standard projects while receiving assistance on unusual problems.
  • Responsible for risk management documentation for assigned product lines.
  • Reviews, approves, and generates Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs).
  • Evaluates and participates in the selection of suppliers by monitoring performance.
  • Reviews nonconformance records to determine disposition and root cause.
  • Ensures containment of nonconforming product.
  • Identifies and implements changes to maintain the quality management system.
  • Evaluates the manufacturing work environment for adequate controls.
  • May participate in design and development activities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
