About The Position

This is for a Quality Assurance Engineer II position at AMAZON.COM SERVICES LLC in Denver, Colorado. The role involves leading the testing of large-scale systems, creating test plans and cases, and driving continuous improvements in QA processes using various Internet and Web technologies. The engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying manual and automated tests for complex systems, including mobile device development kits and graphical user interfaces. This position requires close collaboration with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design. The role also includes consulting with project management and development teams on technical testing issues and providing detailed status reports on project progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Programmer/Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Test Developer, or a related occupation.
• Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
• Must have one year of experience in developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in a Windows, UNIX, or Linux environment.
• Must have one year of experience in documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the testing of large-scale systems, create test plans, test cases, and drive continuous improvements to the quality assurance processes using Internet and Web technologies including Apache, HTTP, XML, HTML, Load Balancing, and DNS.
• Develop tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment, document and coordinate the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems, and test mobile device development kits and device frame works.
• Design and build automated test cases for mobile device based graphical user interface using test automation frameworks such as VNC Robot and Java.
• Design, develop, and execute quality assurance test cases and support tests for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java including white and black box tests.
• Work closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including the requirements gathering and design.
• Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures.
• Use functional specifications to plan, create, or sign-off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases.
• Provide regular, detailed status report on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.
