About The Position

The Quality Assurance Coordinator - Food Safety at LSG Sky Chefs is responsible for maintaining the Global Quality System and ensuring compliance with various regulatory standards including FDA, USDA, and HACCP. This role is crucial in upholding food safety and quality standards within the organization, contributing to the overall success of the airline catering services provided by LSG Sky Chefs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using computer and basic software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to create and maintain trending charts and SOPs.
  • Experience with calculators, weight scales, thermometers, metal detectors, ATP testing equipment, and mechanical food portioning and processing equipment.
  • Previous food industry and quality assurance experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and initiate all recordkeeping and key performance indicators pertinent to the Quality Department and Global Quality System (GQS).
  • Daily monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for compliance.
  • Verify cooler and freezer room temperatures for compliance.
  • Perform environmental swabs and microbiological sampling, submitting samples to local laboratories for analysis.
  • Obtain Chef Table samples to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in training and daily initiatives addressing quality, food safety, and sanitation issues.
  • Conduct work station inspections to verify compliance with standards and documentation.
  • Conduct portion control weight compliance checks to specifications.
  • Conduct inspection checks for dispatch, galley, non-bonded, bonded, and equipment.
  • Verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs and other documents are accurately completed daily.
  • Create charts, trending reports, training materials, and visuals.
  • Maintain and monitor standards and train employees in compliance with Regulated Garbage Standards to meet USDA requirements.
  • Support Jump-off (commissary) locations with oversight.
  • Train hourly employees as needed.
