About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The Quality Assurance Specialist will ensure the facility’s adherence to evidence-based practices related to security, treatment, and programming. This position will be responsible for the implementation of continuous quality improvement measures related to risk/needs assessments, facilitated treatment and programming, and security protocols. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be expected to undergo certification in the Correctional Program Checklist, for the purpose of measuring how well programs adhere to research. This includes technical report writing and expectation of travel to other facilities around the state. In addition, this position will: Assist with the development and implementation of facility protocols, which includes providing some educational and training materials to facility staff. Assist in updating, reviewing, and determining applicable policies and procedures for the facility. This position is located in a correctional facility and will have daily contact with program residents who are adult offenders sentenced for felony convictions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a helping profession (social work, psychology, clinical, etc.) or a related field is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of directly related work experience preferred.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities
