Scope of Role The Quality Auditor is responsible for testing, inspecting and auditing products at various stages of the production process from incoming inspection of products through finished goods.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various types of measurement instruments to include, but not limited to: indicators, tachometers, micrometers, height gauges, depth micrometers, verniers, snap gauges, gauge blocks, decibel meters, and electrical meters.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with use of miscellaneous hand and power tools to maintain inspection equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including using email and Excel to accurately enter and search for data.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic, including the ability to be self-directed and self-motivated while taking initiative with projects and tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and collaborative skills.

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalency is required from an accredited institution
  • 2 or more years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of CMM & GMM in running programs is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and auditing methodology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate inspection equipment including CMM, GMM, profilometer, Height gauge, visual comparators etc.
  • Visually inspect and measure gearing product characteristics in multiple machining functions to include, but not limited to: Open Gear, Speed Reducers, Micron, Centric, Solar Gearmotor & Gearbox and Cast Bevel Gearboxes.
  • Tag rejected product assuring required information is provided for rework.
  • Inspect incoming material by measuring and checking parts against engineering drawings.
  • Record inspection results in Receiving Log.
  • Report all required information on the rejected parts.
  • Verify, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot a variety of gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Perform product and process audits as required.
  • Complete records and reports of daily work as required.
  • Teardown, evaluate and analyze returned goods and report the technical results.
  • Communicate in written form to appropriate business departments/personnel.
  • Assist production associates with production line quality assurance and trouble shooting.
  • Completing first piece/ first article and PPAP related inspections.
  • Reading and understanding product drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in data analysis and problem-solving activities.
