About The Position

The Quality and Stars Program Coordinator will oversee and assist the Manager of Quality and Stars Performance with tracking the Medicare Advantage Stars Ratings Program at the measure level. They will manage, trend and report data that enables the Stars team to make course corrections and employ strategies to achieve program goals for Medicare Advantage and ACA. “This position is eligible to work onsite, hybrid, or remote in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Compensation $30.96-$38.70 Non-Exempt Grade 14 • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge working with CMS Stars Ratings measures such as HEDIS, CAHPS, PQA/Pharmacy, HPMS, HOS, Operations, and CMS Display measures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate findings to a wide array of both technical and non-technical people.
  • Proven ability in handling concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
  • Ability to make decisions using independent judgment and creativity to resolve issues and overcome roadblocks.
  • Demonstrated success understanding the needs of others, asking meaningful questions, influencing decisions, developing solutions, and promoting collaboration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field, in lieu of degree 5 years’ experience within the STARS field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong project management skills are desired to keep projects advancing at a reasonable pace.
  • Two years of experience presenting data insights through methods such as storytelling, data visualization and presentation development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify resources, both internal and external, to aid in dashboard and reporting development.
  • Organize and trend data from multiple sources to help inform development of strategy, initiatives, and programs for the overall success of the Stars programs.
  • Extend company data with third party sources of information as needed.
  • Provide actionable overall marketing, customer, and division data insights to address key strategic questions.
  • Model and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical issues and help navigate process improvements/decisions.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and innovation by helping to identify, promote and drive activities that support Stars improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in CMS Star and Quality program rules, HEDIS measures and specifications and keep the organization up to date on program changes from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Review CMS Advance Notice for proposed changes affecting current and upcoming Star and Quality rating periods.
  • Review CMS Final Rate Announcement for changes in measures, methodology, and rating calculations that affect projection of BCBSKS Star rating.
  • Evaluates new cut points and benchmarks for the upcoming Star year based on historical information for all Medicare and ACA contracts across the nation.
  • Lead Stars Corporate and Health Plan engagement strategies and discussions in evaluating high performing activities for expansion opportunities.
  • Assist in planning and execution of member and community events to include interacting with members in person.
