Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. The role purpose is to support the application of the Quality Management System and drive continuous improvements based on plant objectives.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree and at least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Can work independently and in group settings
  • Good written/verbal communication
  • Can establish a broad network across operations, engineering and information technology organizations
  • Ability to influence other groups in the organization to reach a common goal
  • Effective in managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates approachability across all organizations within the manufacturing environment (quality, engineering, technology and leadership)

Responsibilities

  • Performs incoming inspection on raw materials
  • Manages raw material and product quality hold areas
  • Aids in product testing, test creation, and equipment installation
  • Aids in product quality decision data gathering
  • Evaluates data to drive continuous improvements
