About The Position

The Quality and Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting and validating completion of the quality and compliance-related auditing and reporting required for FLIPA and its various programs. This position supports the completion and documentation of training and associated records, supports drafting, revision, or review of policies and procedures as required for regulatory or other changes, supports auditing of program records and supports the coordination of self-audit by program and validation of documentation through liaising with Executive Leadership. This role supports the coordination of member complaints and follow-up for any identified concerns. Forward Leading IPA (FLIPA) is a nonprofit membership association of safety net providers working in partnership to provide the highest quality integrated healthcare to historically underserved populations in Upstate New York since 2017. FLIPA is renowned for its commitment to integrating primary care, behavioral health, and social care needs. Our growing membership serves individuals across more than 27 counties and includes federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), behavioral health providers, and a rural health network consisting of eight county public health departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, such as business, public health, healthcare administration or equivalent experience required
  • Proven experience as Quality and Compliance Specialist or equivalent position
  • Experience within the New York State health care system (population health, behavioral health, Federally Qualified Health Centers, or similar) required
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Familiarity with MS Office and various business software
  • New York State residency required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Implementation of Quality Control Procedures: Support the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct Audits: Perform regular audits and spot checks to detect compliance issues and areas of risk.
  • Analyze Data: Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Document Findings: Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities and create audit reports.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with various departments to address quality issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Support Training Verification: Manage the dissemination and documentation of training materials and assure completion.
  • Support Complaint Process: Assure timely follow up and resolution of complaints and reportable incidents with appropriate documentation.
