This position contributes to our mission by managing data collection, analytics, and visualizations to inform high quality service-delivery decisions and by becoming NOHN’s subject matter expert (SME) for HRSA’s Uniform Data System (UDS) and NCQA’s Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) reporting programs. This position will support Quality Department initiatives including Epic onboarding and offboarding, quality chart audits, and quality improvement projects.

  • In coordination with the Quality Director and Optimization Project Manager, the Quality Analyst will develop and manage systems for Healthcare Intelligence including data collection/extraction, validation, monitoring, analysis and visualization of data related to clinical and operational quality and utilization of health center services.
  • Serve as a member of the Healthcare Intelligence Reporting Team, monitoring and reviewing incoming queue, prioritizing and responding to data requests, including grant-related data requests.
  • Research and evaluate data from different sources to identify discrepancies and patterns and validate data and work with technical resources to resolve data issues and/or set up new data processes
  • Develop and maintain documented processes for all Healthcare Intelligence projects.
  • Create and maintain operational and quality dashboards
  • In collaboration with the Quality Director, become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on NCQA’s Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition, and required external reporting programs such as HRSA’s Uniform Data System (UDS), American Heart Association’s recognition programs, Value-Based Contract (VBC) programs, and other federal and state quality programs.
  • Assist with periodic service area needs assessment projects, including collection of most recent relevant data from external sources or internally using patient surveys, focus groups or other appropriate methods.
  • Develop and maintain documented processes for UDS, PCMH, community health needs assessments and other QI/QA projects.
  • Contribute to or lead Quality Department special projects, including organizational QI projects.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the success of NOHN’s Quality department
  • In coordination with Quality Director and Clinical Informatics Project Coordinator, the Quality Analyst will manage EHC onboarding and offboarding, including working closely with HR on Epic account creation for new hires and visiting students, and developing and maintaining documented processes.
  • Perform chart review/audits and data abstraction of patient records in support of various quality data reporting systems and clinical informatics optimization projects.
  • Degree from two-year or four-year college or university in healthcare-related field, Health Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years of experience in healthcare quality, operations, or data analytics
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, with experience in Epic reporting strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with all Microsoft Office 365 products, with a special emphasis on use of Excel, Access, SQL, or other spreadsheet or database tools
  • Proficient with intermediate to advanced skills in data analysis and visualization software (Tableau experience preferred)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize workload
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Strong change management skills and mindset
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive medical information and foster an ethical work environment
