The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) provides case management work to individuals assigned to designated homes at KNI. Working under the general supervision of the Program Director, QIDP's exercise considerable latitude in performing the tasks related to directing and coordinating interdisciplinary teams providing Active Treatment Programming to the individuals who live at KNI. This position is critical to ensuring ICF regulations are followed specific to individuals living at KNI. The position directs, and coordinates services provided to KNI individuals as well as ensuring the active treatment program(s) and individual rights are being delivered at the highest standards. The position advocates for the individuals living in the home(s) they are responsible for and serve as the liaison to the parents/legal guardians as required. The QIDP encounters friends, family and relatives of the people served and must be able to communicate not only with family, but also with KNI and other state agencies staff and all stakeholders.

  • Provides case management work to individuals assigned to designated homes at KNI.
  • Directing and coordinating interdisciplinary teams providing Active Treatment Programming to the individuals who live at KNI.
  • Ensuring ICF regulations are followed specific to individuals living at KNI.
  • Directs, and coordinates services provided to KNI individuals as well as ensuring the active treatment program(s) and individual rights are being delivered at the highest standards.
  • Advocates for the individuals living in the home(s) they are responsible for and serve as the liaison to the parents/legal guardians as required.
  • One year of experience in providing or supervising the care of individuals in a hospital, mental health or mental retardation facility or in an independent or transitional living setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, speech & language pathology, or related human services field as determined by the agency.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency
  • Occasional travel.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a drug screen test
  • Valid Driver's License
