Requirements

• Licensed Electrician with a CT E-2 license.
• Four years of experience in tasks in the electrical trade.

• Graduation from a vocational or technical school in a maintenance trade area may substitute for two years of general experience.

• Possession of a valid Connecticut E-2 Unlimited Electric Journeyperson License.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled tasks in accordance with standard electrical trade practices and codes.
• Lay out and install electrical conduit for power and lighting.
• Make repairs to electrical motors, controllers, switchboard panels, traffic lights, and power circuits.
• Install open and concealed wiring and lighting fixtures.
• Maintain and repair unit heaters, fans, and building maintenance machines.
• Repair relays and switches, rewire motors, and bend pipes.
• Install, repair, and maintain oil burners and perform necessary safety testing of electrical equipment.
• Keep necessary records and make estimates of time and materials for assigned tasks.
• Diagnose failures and assist in high voltage work as needed.
